At Mercy For Animals, protecting the rights of farmed animals is our top priority. We also recognize the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and want MOD Pizza to be able to do everything it can to prevent the spread of this virus. To that end, we have temporarily suspended our public awareness campaign.

END THIS CRUELTY

Take Action

TELL MOD PIZZA TO STOP ALLOWING HORRIFIC ANIMAL ABUSE!

MOD Pizza, a pizza chain with more than 400 locations across the United States, allows horrific abuse of chickens in their supply chain. Factory farms nationwide pack chickens into dark, crowded, waste-filled warehouses. Chickens bred to grow too large too quickly often become immobilized in their own waste. They are forced to breathe toxic chemicals and sometimes suffer organ failure or even die. MOD Pizza should publicly pledge not to purchase chickens from facilities that use lower-welfare breeds or slaughter chickens by hanging them by their feet, dragging them through electrified water, and cutting their throats—sometimes while the birds are fully conscious.

Many of their competitors, including Blaze Pizza, &pizza, Mellow Mushroom, Fresh Brothers, and Papa John’s, along with more than 200 other brands, have already pledged to ban the worst cruelty in their chicken supply chains. It’s time for MOD Pizza to do the same.

Bred to Suffer

Bred to Suffer

At typical factory farms, chickens are bred to grow so unnaturally fast they often suffer debilitating leg pain and organ failure.

Living in Darkness

Chickens are crammed together and kept in near darkness for their entire lives.

Sitting in Waste

Birds spend most of their lives sitting in old litter soaked with feces and urine, resulting in painful sores and respiratory problems.

Killed While Conscious

At the end of their lives, chickens are violently shackled upside down and have their throats cut—all while fully conscious.
